My son’s Nintendo Wii collecting dust

by Melissa Cruz on July 12, 2008

I have been sitting here starring at a $500 white decoration stand, sitting on my desk. That white decor stand is also known as the Nintendo Wii .

Last Christmas, my son was praying and hoping to get a Nintendo Wii System. He had wanted it for his birthday in April, but I told him he had to save his money and then he could buy himself one. He wanted it so bad, that he saved his birthday money (btw, my son had just turned 6 years old at the time).

My son ended up saving a few hundred dollars, so I figured I would put in the difference, since he was working so hard to save. Although, I did not think that the Wii was going to be over $500 at Christmas time…geez! Anyways, I found it a couple weeks before Christmas for little less than $400, (ohhh, what a deal!)

Seven months later, I can count with two hands, how many times he has played the Wii system. He rarely even touches the system. He is still fixed on his Playstation 2. I try and get him to play the Wii and he kind of puts it off. He will play it at times to shut me up, but he does not get as much thrill from it as he does with his Playstation 2.

I figured, rather then the Nintendo Wii collect dust, I should put it to use. I have heard some good reviews on the Wii Fit. Maybe I will buy one and see if it’s worth it, I may no longer need my gym membership..hehe.
