The battery life on my iPhone part II

by Melissa Cruz on July 24, 2008

My blog is starting to look like a dedication to my iPhone. I don’t mean it to be, it just has been my interest lately or should I say my headache. I hate to bad talk my iPhone because it is one of the best things that has happen to be…besides my kids. (JK all the way) ;) BUT…it has been giving me problems lately, since I upgraded the firmware to 2.0.

I upgraded my iPhone firmware on July 11 and started downloading a whole bunch of applications to try them out. I deleted a few that were useless to me and kept about 10 that I might use. As mentioned in my first blog about my iPhone’s battery, it did not last long at all….I’m talking about my iPhone battery, sickos!!!!

Although, the last two days the battery has been even more so drained than before. This morning I had my iPhone on the block adater charger overnight and took off around 8am. I did not touch my iPhone from 9am-1pm and when I went in my purse to use it, it was completely DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!! WTH?? After 4 hours of sitting in my purse and waiting for me to pick it up, it DIED????

I connected my iPhone to my car charger when i got in the car and it seemed like it was not charging but yet getting super warm. I left it on there for about 20 minutes and still not much charging was done. I then put it on a speaker dock to charge from 230pm-530pm with minimal usage and it still would not go past 50% charge, and again the iPhone was still very warm. It was off a charger for about 15 minutes and there was 10 percent left. I was about to cry.

I was given a blog site, to check to see, if there was any useful information. I did find that people were having issue with their chargers, mostly the block wall plug. I of course, was using the wall plug, so I right away STOPPED. I got an old iPod cable and connected it to my computer to charge and within minutes I noticed the difference of the charging…it was working!!! The phone was also not heating up. My iPhone has been connected to my computer for over 4 hours now and it is fully charged and normal temperature.

Lets see how long this will last or if I will wake up to a dead iPhone and and late to work because there was no alarm to wake me in the morning???????
