Tonight was the first live show of Season 8 on American Idol and it was great. The people that stood out to me were Danny Gokey, Tatiana Nicole Del Toro and Jackie Tohn.
I’m sure it is obvious why Danny stood out to me, he is just amazing!!! Danny is likable and has an awesome voice! Not to mention cute, he has a Robert Downey Jr. look to him.
As for Tatiana Nicole Del Toro, she stood out to me because I was waiting for her annoying personality to come out, but it never did. Tatiana sang a Whitney Houston song and did pretty well with it. I thought for sure once she was finished singing she was going to give off her annoying laugh, but it never came out. The judges were even trying to yank it out of her and she would not budge. Tatiana said that her friends called her out, telling her that she was not acting herself when she was all giddy. Things that make you go hmmmmmm!! Was it all an act??
The final contestant that stood out to me was Jackie Tohn, mainly because I could not understand her outfit! Jackie’s feet looked huge with her tight spandex pants and sneakers!!! I thought Jackie did a nice job singing and love her rocker voice but could not really look past the sneakers! I know it may just be her look and wanting to stand out and be different but the outfit was just hard on my eyes.
Overall, I was really into the show tonight and can’t wait for the next batch of contestants. I am also watching my email closely for my tickets to a taping. I have gone almost every season to a live show and will for sure not be passing this year up!

My sister LOVES this dude. He does seem totally likable and it sounds perhaps a little crass, but the widow thing does make you root for him.
