Last Thursday night, I went to The IceHouse Comedy Club in Pasadena, CA. This was my first time attending this Comedy Club. The host at the front door was very nice in assisting my friends and I in the club. Tickets are very reasonably priced, $12.50 a person. This venue has a two drink minimum and are reasonably priced and to top it off, super strong!
As we were seated we had a waiter come up to us and take our drink and food order. They make you order your 2nd drink at the time they take your first order. Everything was going well until we are about two comedians into the show and we still did not have food or drinks. My friend had asked another
waiter that was serving food, where her food was and he said, “I’m not your waiter,” then walked away. I am a stickler for customer service and I hate when service is crap. The waiter could have been a bit more polite in answering back rather than giving a snappy answer. Although, within a minute our waiter brought my friend’s food out.
We are now about half way through the show and our drinks finally come out. There were about 4 comedians before the main comedian. The last show opener was hilarious, although, i don’t recall his name. The best part of the whole show was the main act, Darren Carter. I had never heard of this comedian before Thursday. I liked him so much that I bought, a t-shirt, DVD and thongs that say, “Darren Carter, the party starter.” Although, I dont think I bought them because I enjoyed him so much, I think it was those dam strong drinks that made me do it!!!! I would rate this place an A. If it was not for that mean waiter and late drinks, I would give it an A+.
